Parody site considered most reliable source of information on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Since war has started again between Armenians and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh (or Artsakh), media coverage of the conflict has been quite disappointing.

Despite knowing that reporters have a hard time spelling half of the names involved (don’t even mention pronunciation), Armenians still have enough of constantly refreshing their browser to see the same recycled information.

In the middle of this journalistic misery, a brand new site, Semuchka (not related), offers to cover the facts in all objectivity (almost).

Semuchka promises the following things:

  • To not mention the words “Armenian separatists”
  • To not call for a peaceful end and call it a day
  • To not use this statement in each article: “Each side accuses the other of [INSERT CRIME HERE]”
  • Start fundraising to collect tissues for the little Ilham, too sensitive to our articles.

When asked about the new platform, PM Nikol Pachinyan immediately welcomed the initiative, calling it a “true micro-revolution” in the media landscape. French diplomacy, more measured, issued a neutral opinion.

As for President Aliyev, he was last seen waiting for a call from Erdogan before stating his mind.
